Already 2 Weeks Old

Anyone who has ever said the phrase, "they grow up quick," sure wasn't kidding. In only his second week, he is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings. His favorite thing to look at now is his reflection - he could stare at it for hours. When he's awake now, his eyes are wide open and looking around at things. It's so cool when he sees something for the first time. Yesterday I was holding him and wearing a hat and he could not talk his eyes of the brim of it. He must have thought that I had something sticking out of my head.

Here's a few pics from this week and one video of the little guy checking out his mobile:

Loving His New Bib - Thanks Aunt Sue!

You'd think we lined his crib with poison ivy, but I guess it's just the dreaded "New Born Rash"...dun, dun, dahhh!

Seth Meets Joshua

And so it began...the friendship that will no doubt last a lifetime. If Joshua and Seth are anything like their daddy's, I am sure they'll have more than a few good stories to tell when they get a bit older. Funny how life works, after being fired from a job in 1996 as a telemarketer selling grave sites (seriously), I walked into Domino's Pizza looking for work as a delivery guy. That's where I met Joshua's dad, Mike, and the rest as they say, is history.

Seth was getting a little too cozy hanging out with Uncle Mike, so I unleashed a tirade and am a little embarrassed that the camera was rolling...

Seth's First Smile

Anyone that has ever taken a picture of a baby knows that by the time you see something you want to get a picture of, more often than not the moment is gone by the time you grab your camera. Every now and then the planet do align though.

Seth, Dad and Mom were hanging out on the couch this morning. Seth was hungry, doing his hilarious high-pitched cry and I was trying to get a video of it for the blog. Naturally when the camera was rolling, he settled down and relaxed. So I flipped the camera back to picture mode and happened to have it set to take a burst of 3 pictures. That's when I saw him smile for the first time. Stacy has seen it before, but this was my first. I am glad I had the camera ready.

Grandma Susie Meets Seth

Grandma Susie came over last night rocking in her "This is what a really cool Grandma looks like" T-shirt. She also brought some pot roast and homemade German chocolate cake - yummie, thanks Mom! Here's a few pics from the visit and some others from yesterday as well.

What the "F" are you looking at, you want a piece of me?

Grandma Rose's Sunflower

I know this is not Seth related, but Grandma Rose has been "surfing the web" over at her friend Pat's place. I recently sent her some pictures of the little man, but forgot to include this one of what once was a seed that she sent me in the mail. Now that I think about it, regardless of whether you're talking about sunflowers or babies, here's proof that you reap what you sow!

Home Sweet Home

We made it home around 2:30 pm today and it feels great. I do have to tell you that we were here for about 20 minutes before the changing pad was peed on and the crib sheet and pad was pooped on. I have a feeling we are going to get our monies worth out of the washer and dryer!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!

Thank You Everyone!

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for all the support and well wishes over the last few days, weeks and months. It has been great sharing the news with you by phone, e-mails, and of course, this blog. Seth is doing great and it looks like we are going to fly the coop today around noon - a full day ahead of schedule (he's already excelling at such an early age!!). He just has to get his first Hepatitis B vaccine which ought to be fun.

Lots of Love,
Brent & Stacy

Mini T?

If you recall the Austin Powers franchise, you will no doubt remember Mini Me, Austin's pint sized side kick. As much as Seth looks like Grandpa Terry, I couldn't help but give Seth the nickname "Mini T". You be the judge.

Seth Getting Burped and a Case of the Fussies

After the vomit incident (see below), we learned the benefits of spending a few extra minutes burping.

We haven't quite yet deciphered what all of his different cries mean. For now, they're just funny!

Our First Holy Sh#t Moment

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Little man was just chillin' in his beside crib while Mom was wrecking a piece of apple pie and Dad was doing the same to a piece of chocolate cake. Out of nowhere, Seth started gagging and fluid was gushing out of his mouth. We jumped up, grabbed him and started to burp him, but his whole body went tense and straightened out. He was just looking at us, not breathing with vomit all over his face. We tried to suction him out - no response. We smacked him on the back - no response. After what seemed like 60 seconds (in reality, probably more like 5), just as Stacy was looking for the emergency call button, he let out a wail that seemed to clear everything up. To date, that was the scariest moment of my life!

On a side note, we laid him down to clean him up which involved diaper duty (he said duty). Something I will have to make darn sure I remember is to either wear a full body radiation suit when we change him or put a cloth over his manhood. As soon as the cold wipes hit that area, it's Old Faithful!

It's official, Seth Michael Todd

We couldn't put off the decision on the middle name any longer. The birth certificate people called and we had to commit. Stacy took the call and asked me what I thought - I told her to pick one and so it was Michael.

Garrett got destroyed in online voting, but that really only confirmed what our gut was telling us. Besides, Seth Michael does have a nice ring to it!

Seth and Daddy Hanging Out...

I got to spend a little QT with Seth today. We covered the basics - you know, shaving, girls, politics, power tools, and of course, Cleveland Sports!

Someone Had a Little Too Much to Drink...

What a Handsome Devil!

Seth loves to sleep...wonder where he gets that from? He barely fussed last night at all. In fact, we both were able to get some sleep. He did get his man part trimmed today so he's not too happy about that, otherwise life is good.

Seth is in the house!!!

Weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. and standing a towering 21 inches, we welcomed Seth at 12:32 am on Friday June 13, 2008. Mommy is doing great. I think he looks a lot like Grandpa Terry, what do you think?

Week 39 Sonograms

We went to doctor on Thursday for a couple of sonograms to see how big Seth is. Our doctor on Tuesday took measurements of Little Man and estimated that he is probably around 8 pounds. She then suggested that we should confirm her estimates with a couple of sonograms because they are supposed to be more accurate. So we went and got a few more pics taken, as you can see. But personally, I think this sonogram business is a racket. The sonogram tech told us he was 8 pounds, but that the margin of error is 1.3 pounds. So basically, he's anywhere from 6.7 - 9.3 pounds. No sh#t, I could have guessed that and I didn't go to med school! Thank you very little, that will be $200. Well, at least we got a few more screen caps of him. Stacy says he has my nose - is mine really that big? Hopefully in the next week or so we'll get to meet him up close and personal.

The next Dr.'s appointment is Monday, one day prior to June 10, the due date. If we need a little "help", it looks like we could get scheduled as early as Friday - for those not keeping track, that's Friday the 13th...oooohhhh!

This is good shot of his lips

He's definitely a boy, but this is a family website!

Getting Down to the Wire

We went for our check-up today, and tomorrow Mama Todd will have another sonogram done to estimate how much Seth weighs. If he's weighing 7.5-8lbs now, induction may be scheduled for next week!!!!
